A Working Life with Eileen Myles
This week, a conversation with Eileen Myles about a life in poetry, from Boston to New York and beyond. Find it wherever you go for podcasts, or at our site: https://radioopensource.org/a-working-life-with-eileen-myles/.
The poet Eileen Myles, whose latest book of poetry is A “Working Life,” sat down to talk recently about their own life in poetry. You’ll hear, among other things, how their writing conversationally connects internal musing with so much else, how it participates in a working life. Myles says:
I think the part that links it to the outside perhaps, is the rhythm, you know, and that you are included too. I think rhythm is where we kind of scratch the surface of reality and daily-ness. It might be my interior monologue going on, but the rhythm makes it so you can pick up the receiver and hear it, too.
